Krenz has a practiced list of angles with boxes. Body parts are fitted in to be used as components of a figure or illustration using the box as a base.
Just fit it inside a cube

For the body in particular, you can fine tune the angles of the pelvis and ribcage
Perspective is really the relationship of an object to the camera. We’re not limited to using a specific point of perspective, only if we want said objects to be parallel.
- A.k.a an off angle chair can have their own vanishing points separate from the general perspective
Pen tool for perspective grid…
- It can move outside the canvas!
Bargueish Perspective Bypass
- Proper observation of angles using the plus cross can avoid the use of perspective construction entirely if going for a pure copy. This way of thinking is purely 2D however.
- However, sight fundamentals are still key when it comes to measuring angle and ratio when constructing proportions.
- Even then, This construction is still “naïve” as we are only considering angle in this copy so far, not vanishing points.
Krenz Perspective Copy Method
Krenz defines coordinates that directly translate to the 3D space.
- Extract key proportions and points from the front and side view
- Respect their relationship in the actual turnaround.
Additional considerations
- You can use the transform tool to put a front view sticker in perspective.
- Use reasoning for slopes you’re stuck on. Drawing a side view or front view can help.
- It’s easier to draw the whole and crop into a part, rather than to draw a part with itself without any additional guides.
Start with the box, add construction later
You can freestyle a box to an angle to your liking and design the construction around it rather than the other way around, which is more exhausting and doesn’t guarantee the box you want.
