TenTen Anatomy Lecture 5 (cont.)
The scapula is a coat hanger-like shape.
Scapula does NOT move when extending 90 degrees or below
Ribcage Shape Analysis
- The main volume is two stacked squares.
- Important breakpoint on the bottom third indicating to curve inward.
- The side profile has an extended triangle outside the volume compared to a trapezoid.
- “Egg shape” vs “Bullet”
Both profile proportions apply in 3D form. The side plane is especially predictable with its ratio.
Angled Variations

Speedrun without box (47:00)
The side plane OR ribcage opening is highly telegraphed and can hint the rest of the shape.
Pelvis Angle Analysis
- The back is clearly visible. You can summarize most of its shape with a negative trapezoid.
Top plane U-Shape
Many angles start from the top curves “parenthesis” then make the U descend.
- The torso links towards the back of this parenthesis.
Borrowing Both Sides Proportions
Buttocks (1:00:00)
Curve off the backside of the pelvis starting from the third, and curving inward. The resulting volume can be shaped and depicted spherical depending on view.
Examples
Pectorals
A square + triangle that turns inward after 3/4. The triangle on the opposite side is not drawn on three-quarter view.
- The top and bottom are slightly cut-post to ease in the collarbone and ribcage opening.
Boobas (1:34:00)
The breasts are actually two segments:
- A extended front plane
- A semi-sphere side plane

Breasts != Pecs
- The pecs is just depicted as a single line
Torso Construction (1:50:00)
Abdominals
Inward taper, evenly split “M” shape. Note the consistent endpoints.
- The outer shape converges like an hourglass
